The Standards Committee reported progress on add-on accessories issues, emergency airway access procedures, approved a new youth football helmet recertification standard and outlined a policy change to its research grant program to enhance scientific return-on-investment and support NOCSAE’s standards development mission.
NOCSAE reported progress on youth football helmet certification, considered a solution pathway for helmet add-on accessories, established a working group to address facemask removal requirements and approved creation of a public-facing helmet database.
The NOCSAE Standards Committee shared updates on round robin testing for NOCSAE’s new Generation III Headforms, updated the effective date for the youth football helmet standard and addressed considerations related to manufacturer authorized accessories. This was the first meeting under the leadership of John Parsons, PhD, who was appointed as NOCSAE’s new executive director on April 1.
