The NOCSAE board of directors represents a diverse and passionate group of sport and medical professionals who work together toward the common goal of reducing sport-related injuries. They serve without compensation.

NOCSAE Board Member Craig Bohl

Craig Bohl is the American Football Coaches Association’s executive director. He was selected by the AFCA to be their representative on the NOCSAE Board of Directors in 2025.

He has served in several leadership capacities at the AFCA, including being named to the board of trustees in 2012 and serving as president in 2022. Additional sport leadership roles include serving on the NCAA Division I Football Competition Committee and the NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee. In addition, as University of Wyoming head coach, he led the Cowboys for ten seasons and recorded more bowl game appearances and bowl game wins than any other head coach in the state’s history. Again as head coach, Coach Bohl led the North Dakota State University Bison to three consecutive NCAA Division I Football Championships.

He has won several awards and honors, including AFCA Regional Coach of the Year (bestowed twice), AFCA Football Championship Subdivision National Coach of the Year (bestowed twice), Missouri Valley Football Conference Coach of the Year, Mountain West Coach of the Year, and Great West Coach of the Year. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he was also a defensive back for the Cornhuskers.

The American Football Coaches Association is an association of over 11,000 American football coaches and staff at all levels of the game. The AFCA works to ensure that every football coach receives adequate professional development support and resources.

Standards Committee Member

All members of NOCSAE’s board also serve on the NOCSAE Standards Committee. On the committee, Craig Bohl represents the ANSI interest category Users and Consumers, which the American National Standards Institute defines as “end-users and groups with direct athlete involvement.”
